Cruzeiro investor, Pedrinho cited what is missing for an agreement in negotiations with midfielder Matheus Pereira. The celestial team is negotiating with Al Hilal, a team from Saudi Arabia, to permanently sign the athlete who is on loan until June 2024.

In an interview with journalist Victor Moreira, from Alterosa TVPedro Lourenço, known as Pedrinho, detailed the negotiation between Cruzeiro and Matheus Pereira and mentioned that the salary adjustment is what is missing to complete the deal.

“Matheus is a priority for Cruzeiro. Ronaldo was there with the sheikh 15 days ago, he has been talking, he has the proposal. Cruzeiro’s priority today is Matheus. The first step is that Matheus wants to stay, and the club [Al Hilal] want to sell. It’s just a matter of adjusting the salary issue, because he has a salary that is far outside the club’s reality. The businessman’s statement came after an event at the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG) in which Ronaldo received the title of honorary citizen of the state. Still regarding the negotiation with Matheus Pereira, Pedrinho cited the influence of Fenômeno, majority partner of SAF celeste.

“Ronaldo is used in these most difficult times. It’s not easy to talk to a sheikh, owner of the team. Not just anyone talks to the sheikh. Now, Ronaldo has an open door wherever he goes in the world. He got there, the guy welcomed him, with a shirt, photo. Ronaldo talked to him, he continues talking. Talking to a sheikh, a club owner, is just a job for Ronaldo. Continuity of Matheus Pereira

With a contract until June this year, Matheus Pereira is one of the biggest concerns for Cruzeiro fans at the start of the season. The player is the highlight of the celestial team, but his stay depends on negotiations with Al Hilal, from Saudi Arabia.

The purchase price is estimated at 12 million euros (approximately R$63 million), unrealistic for Brazilian football. However, the possibility of negotiating values ​​or a new loan is not ruled out.
