The Danish Holger Rune, 7th in the ATP, is already in Monte Carlo preparing for the local Masters and had an unusual encounter with the Jamaican three-time Olympic champion in athletics, Usain Bolt – the fastest man in the world.

The meeting took place at the Royal Monte Carlo Tennis Club, which annually hosts the most charming tennis tournament on the calendar. Bolt and Rune had several people who work at the tournament and journalists as witnesses to the conversation.

The tennis player and the sprinter exchanged sports tips and Rune even learned the correct positioning for a sprinter to take off in a race.

Posing for photographers, Rune took Bolt’s famous pose, titled ‘thunderbolt’, which is a reference to the speed achieved by Usain Bolt on the tracks.

Jamaican, Usain Bolt is the only athlete in history to become three-time champion, with consecutive gold medals, in two different disciplines, the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. These achievements occurred at the Games in Beijing (China), London (England) and Rio de Janeiro.

In these individual modalities, Bolt holds world records, having run the 100 meter dash in just 9.58 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin (Germany) in 2009. His fastest run for the 200m occurred at the same World Athletics Championships in Berlin , in which Bolt ran 200 meters in 19.19 seconds.

Rune is already in Monte Carlo after being surprised in the second round of the Miami Masters, last week, by Hungarian Fabian Marozsan.
