Police officers from the Várzea Grande Specialized Robbery and Theft Police Station completed, yesterday, the execution of 14 judicial warrants for preventive arrests and searches and seizures for a criminal association involved in robberies in rural areas in Nossa Senhora do Livramento and Várzea Grande.
During the operation, seven preventive arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants were served against criminals who had been terrorizing residents of rural areas in the two municipalities. Another seven search and seizure warrants were executed at the residences of the targets of the operation and suspects who are imprisoned at the Central State Penitentiary, in the capital.
In the prison unit, cell phones were found in the cells of two targets. The investigation by Derf de Várzea Grande showed that one of the prisoners was responsible for ordering, from inside the penitentiary, the execution of robberies on farms and farms.
One of the targets of the operation was charged with qualified reception. At the address, civil police officers located objects stolen from a farm in Nossa Senhora do Livramento and seized a Land Rover vehicle with the suspect. The high-end vehicle was possibly acquired using criminal practices. The suspect confirmed that he had sold another part of the objects to third parties.
With support from the Lucas do Rio Verde Police Station, an arrest warrant was served for one of the targets who is being held in the detention center of that municipality. Another highly dangerous target of the operation had an arrest warrant served by Derf’s team of investigators, this Friday morning, in the municipality of Diamantino.
According to delegate Sérgio Almeida, from Derf de Várzea Grande, the criminal association had been terrorizing residents, invading farms and farms, heavily armed, and acting with extreme violence against the victims.
