Tornadoes destroy homes in the United States
Multiple tornadoes destroyed homes and left people injured in cities across the United States this Friday (26). Damage was reported in Nebraska and Iowa, which are neighboring states in the central region of the country. See the video above.
The tornadoes passed mainly through rural areas of both states. However, homes in the suburban region of Omaha — a Nebraska city with 485,000 inhabitants — were completely destroyed.
Police and fire teams were called to assist residents who were trapped among the rubble or in basements. Until the last update of this report, authorities reported that all rescued victims were treated for minor injuries.
“There are a lot of fallen trees. The houses lack roofs. You definitely see the path of the tornado,” said Officer Neal Bonacci.
According to authorities, the first tornadoes were recorded in Nebraska. After that, one of them moved towards Iowa State. Images circulating on social media show houses and businesses completely destroyed in the small town of Minden.
Before the tornadoes hit, the government issued emergency alerts for the population to protect themselves and seek shelter.
