Santa Catarina should expand vaccination against dengue in the State, this time to the Greater Florianópolis region, following the announcement by the MS (Ministry of Health) made this Wednesday (27). The objective is to extend immunization to other parts of the country as well.

The SES (State Department of Health) reported that it is still awaiting official guidance from the Ministry of Health to begin the process of redistributing doses of the vaccine.
Initially, only 13 cities, located in the North of SC, received doses of the vaccine, due to the concentration of the number of cases of the disease:

- Barra do Sul Spa
- Barra Velha
- Corupá
- Garuva
- Guaramirim
- Itapoá
- South jaragua
- Joinville
- Massaranduba
- San Francisco do Sul
- São João do Itaperiú
- Schroeder
“At the moment, the State is awaiting official information from the Ministry of Health regarding the municipalities that were selected from the health region, the number of doses that will be sent, the date of sending new doses and other information about the progress of the campaign”, stated the folder in note.
On Monday (25) Santa Catarina Health Secretary Carmen Zanotto stated in a press conference that the State should not receive new doses of dengue vaccine this year, hence the need for redistribution.
The unpredictability in the arrival of a new shipment to Santa Catarina occurs due to limitations in the production of immunization agents.
