Rodrigo Faro releases teaser for film about the kidnapping of Silvio Santos; video

The host Rodrigo Faro surprised his followers by appearing characterized as Silvio Santos on his social networks this Tuesday, 2. He published the teaser for the film “Silvio”, which tells the story of the kidnapping of the SBT owner in 2001.

Directed by Marcelo Antunez and produced by Imagem Filmes, the film is scheduled to premiere exclusively in theaters on September 5th.

In the video, Faro is portrayed as Silvio in a scene where he prepares coffee. “Based on real events, businessman Silvio Santos tells his story in an attempt to make peace with the past and ensure his survival in the present, when he is taken hostage by the same man who kidnapped one of his daughters,” wrote the presenter in the caption .

In the comments, fans praised him. “It already brought a lot of emotion with just a few seconds of screen time, imagine the whole film”, commented one. “Congratulations, Rodrigo, you are an incredible guy,” said another.

Remember the case that inspired the film

On August 30, 2001, presenter and businessman Silvio Santos was kidnapped and held hostage for eight hours inside his home. The kidnapper was Fernando Dutra Pinto, the same man who had kidnapped presenter Patrícia Abravanel, daughter of the owner of SBT, days before.

The criminal trapped Silvio in the kitchen and asked for a helicopter to escape, refusing to negotiate with the police. The agony came to an end when Fernando surrendered after the arrival of Geraldo Alckmin, governor of São Paulo at the time.

The kidnapper was arrested and died five months later, on January 2, 2002, after suffering a cardiac arrest inside the prison.
