Maceió and cities in the interior of Alagoas had streets, avenues and bridges flooded because of the storm. In at least two municipalities, people were left homeless. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) renewed two meteorological warnings of rain until Thursday (9). One in yellow color (potential danger) for 32 municipalitiesand another in orange color (danger) for 58, including Maceió. Some cities are under both alerts (see list at the end of the text).

Civil Defense reported that the rains could last until Friday (10) and will continue to be on alert.

The city halls of Jequiá da Praia and Roteiro declared an emergency situation due to the rain. In the region it rained 122 mm in 24 hoursthe number represents almost half of what is expected for the entire month of May.

According to Semarh monitoring, the Coruripe, Piauí and Canduípe Rivers, although still at high levels, are already showing a tendency to stabilize and decrease. The Jequiá River basin received the most rainfall in the state, which was all absorbed by the Jequiá lagoon.
