Tourists are threatened by abusive charges for a boat trip in Maragogi, Alagoas.

Last Thursday, two police officers and tourists from São Paulo reported having been victims of threats in Maragogi, in the northern region of Alagoas. According to the victims’ reports, the tourists questioned the amount charged for a boat trip in the city and ended up being threatened by two men involved in the matter.

The victims alleged that, after demanding reimbursement for the overcharged amount, the individuals began to threaten them, which resulted in a disagreement. Given the situation, the tourists were taken to the Maragogi Police Station to formalize the complaint. Meanwhile, the Military Police began patrols around the region in search of the accused, however, by the time the incident was closed, those responsible for the threats had not been found.

The identity of the tourists involved in the incident was not revealed, nor was the exact amount that generated the discussion. The case caught the attention of local authorities and generated concern among residents and visitors to the tourist city of Maragogi.

The episode raises questions about security and transparency in negotiations regarding tourist services offered in the region. The population and visitors are now waiting for the investigations to be completed so that action can be taken and similar cases can be avoided in the future.
