Apple will donate to Rio Grande do Sul due to the floods

As we have all been following, the floods in Rio Grande do Sul are devastating the state, so that hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by the extreme situation.

Among the countless donations that are being made to try to alleviate the effects of the devastation, the CEO from Apple, Tim Cookrecently announced that the company will contribute to relief efforts.

Our hearts are with the people affected by the devastating and tragic floods in Brazil. Apple will donate to local relief efforts.

The announcement, it is worth noting, takes place on the day that Apple held its first special event of the year, in which new iPads Pro and Air were launched, as well as accessories such as the Apple Pencil Pro and a renewed Magic Keyboard.

According to information from the newspaper The Southa report released today (May 7) by the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul shows that the floods in the state have already caused 95 deaths, 372 injuries and 131 missing people.

Furthermore, the number of displaced or homeless people exceeds 200 thousand — with around 1.44 million of the 11.3 million inhabitants (12.7%) of RS being directly or indirectly affected by the tragedy.
