Children from Umuarama stand out in cycling competition in Santa Catarina

-

Umuarama achieved prominent positions in the first stage of the Catarinense Super BMX 2024 Championship, held last weekend in Videira, Santa Catarina. The competition, organized by the Santa Catarina Cycling Federation with the support of the local City Hall through the Municipal Sports Foundation, attracted cyclists from several cities.

The dispute takes place in two stages, with races also in Camboriú. Representing Umuarama, child cyclists Lorenzo Araújo Molino, four years old, and his sister, Marina Araújo Molino, just three years old, entered the competition.

Lorenzo, more experienced, competed in the Pre Bike category to encourage his younger sister, who is starting her journey in competitions. He took first place, while Marina came third, guaranteeing both a place on the podium.

Despite his young age, Lorenzo already competes in categories with older athletes and has stood out. In Videira, he competed in the Boys 7 category, competing with boys aged 5, 6 and up to 7, reaching second position.

“They are very competitive and I’m sure they will be winning athletes. Marina achieved third place even competing with boys, and Lorenzo already faces older athletes in the Paraná Bicicross Championship, always obtaining good results”, is proud of his father, the former velocross racer Maykon Molino da Silva.

The athlete’s team thanks the sponsors who made participation in the competitions possible: Umuarama City Hall, Sorvetes Guri, Farmácia Ultrapopular, councilors Clebão dos Pneus and Fernando Galmassi, Vidraçaria Vidro Mais, Barbearia Leozão, Papelaria Brasil, Rio Negro Festas, TH Panels, Stilo Uniform, R2 Veículos and Instituto Nossa Senhora Aparecida. The children’s careers can be followed on Instagram @Lorenzo842023.
