Petrolina closes first quarter among the cities that employ the most in Pernambuco

The numbers prove it: Petrolina continues to grow at an increasing pace of economic development! This can be seen from the positive balance of new jobs created in the municipality. Data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), released this Monday (06) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, indicate that the capital of Sertão do São Francisco, once again, closed with a positive balance in job creation with signed card. Petrolina closed the first quarter among the four cities that employ the most in Pernambuco, and is the leader in the Sertão.

As the Caged ranking attests, in the first three months of the year the balance in job creation was 879, in total the municipality registered more than 12,740 hires. The sectors that stood out were agribusiness, services and commerce.

It is worth highlighting that in 2023 Petrolina was the employment champion in the interior of Pernambuco, with a balance of 1,911 vacancies. For seven years, the city has maintained a positive employment balance and for two years it was the leader in the State.

This is confirmation of the city’s growing economic development, which can be seen through the high volume of investments led by the City Hall. The incentives transformed the city into a construction site, with new companies arriving, in addition to the expansion of existing investments. This is the result of management planning, attraction of new investments, partnerships between the public and private sectors, as well as a lot of work and commitment to improving the lives of Petrolina residents.
