The Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM), through the 76th Interactive Police Station (DIP) of Santa Isabel do Rio Negro (630 kilometers from Manaus), arrested red-handed, on Monday (06/05), a man, 52, for attempted rape of a vulnerable person against a teenager, 13. The arrest took place in the São José Operário neighborhood, in the municipality.
According to delegate John Castilho, from the 76th DIP, the author is a neighbor of the victim and would have offered gifts and money to lure her to his home, where he tried to kiss her and complete the sexual abuse.
“The victim managed to scream for help and was saved by members of the public. Upon receiving notification of the crime, we went out and arrested the man in the act, which was later converted into preventive detention by the courts,” he said.
According to the delegate, the author is a repeat offender of this crime and there are two cases against him for rape of a vulnerable person and attempted rape.
The man will be charged with attempted rape of a vulnerable person and will be available to the Judiciary.
