In the 2023/24 harvest, the state reached production of 4.54 billion liters and consolidated itself as the largest national producer of corn ethanol.

Regarding grinding, 10.11 million tons of cereal were needed to produce the volume of ethanol for the 2023/24 harvest.

The good outlook continues for the new harvest, as 11.5 million tons of cereal should be crushed to produce 5.2 billion ethanol.

Mato Grosso is the state with the highest production of corn ethanol in the country, with eleven plants in operation. According to the president of Datagro, Plinio Nastari, of the eleven plants, six are exclusive to corn and cereal ethanol.

“It is these investments that will leverage the production of sustainable raw materials for the production of bioenergy, which includes biodiesel, ethanol, biomethane, and Mato Grosso is an example in this direction, with integration with soybeans, second-crop corn, the conversion of this corn into ethanol, DDG (dry distillers grains – from the English Dried Distillers Grains), corn oil, the transformation of soybeans into bran, which becomes biodiesel”, said the president.
