Despite the rise in prices, ethanol remains more advantageous than gasoline in Minas

Ethanol was more competitive in relation to gasoline in 7 States, including Minas Gerais, and in the Federal District last week (between April 29th and May 4th). On average at the stations surveyed in the country, in the period, the price of ethanol was 65.75% of the price of gasoline, therefore favorable in comparison with the petroleum derivative, according to a survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) .

In flex-fuel vehicles, fueled with both fuels, for reasons of engine performance, ethanol is more competitive if it costs up to 70% of the price of gasoline.

Ethanol was more competitive in relation to gasoline in the following states: Amazonas (67.77%), Goiás (65.75%), Mato Grosso (61.56%), Mato Grosso do Sul (65.08%), Minas Gerais (67.93%), Paraná (66.00%) and São Paulo (65.54%), in addition to the Federal District (69.19%). In the rest of the States, it remains more advantageous to fill up your car with gasoline.

In the latest survey on the Mercado Mineiro website, alcohol had shown a 7% price increase in Belo Horizonte and the metropolitan region between April 5th and 19th. Fuel went from an average of R$3.71 to R$3.97, a difference of R$0.26. The price of gasoline also increased by 3.7% in the same period, and went from R$5.60 to R$5.81, a variation of R$0.21. Diesel was the only one whose price remained stable, with a variation of just R$0.01 and a new average of R$5.91. (With Agência Estado)
