The State Government, through the ‘Amazonas Meu Lar’ Program, will grant subsidies to interior city halls that have housing projects approved by the Residential Leasing Fund (FAR), via the Federal Government’s ‘Minha Casa Minha Vida’. The ordinance was published in the April 18 edition of the Official State Gazette and is available on the website www.amazonasmeular.am.gov.br.

The amounts of the state subsidy to complement housing units built in partnership with the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program will be up to R$ 25,800.00, per housing unit, in the case of single-family buildings (houses), and up to R$ 27,800.00 , per housing unit, in the case of multi-family buildings (apartments).

The Amazonas Meu Lar Program is executed by the State Secretariat for Urban and Metropolitan Development (Sedurb), Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), Housing Superintendence of Amazonas (Suhab) and State Secretariat for Cities and Territories (Sect).

The UGPE secretary, Marcellus Campêlo, highlights that the subsidy consists of granting additional financial support, as a counterpart, to guarantee viability or improvements in housing projects. “It is yet another commitment from Governor Wilson Lima to public housing policies, especially with access for the low-income population to decent housing in the interior of the state. It also represents the decentralization of these actions, leaving the capital for the interior of Amazonas”, he highlighted.

The Secretary of State for Urban Development (Sedurb), Fausto Santos Júnior, informs that interested municipalities must submit the request to the body, administratively, accompanied by the required documentation. “The request will be analyzed and, once all requirements have been met, Sedurb will consult Caixa Econômica Federal, as manager of the FAR, to assess the feasibility of the State supplementing the value of the projects”, he detailed.

According to Suhab’s CEO, Jivago Castro, the measure considers that, in addition to the proposals for housing developments promoted by the State Government through the Amazonas Meu Lar Program, proposals from interior municipalities that may not be implemented due to lack of economic viability. “The cost of construction in the interior of Amazonas is very high, hence the need for financial supplementation, to encourage construction companies and thus benefit the population that most needs housing,” he stated.

Documentation

Proposing municipalities must present the following documents: formal application, regulatory ordinance issued by the Ministry of Cities, indication of the qualification of the project, documentation of unoccupied and unencumbered land, topographical survey, preliminary architectural and implementation study and estimated cost of the project enterprise.

The ordinance also defines that the applicant must present in their application the estimated total composition of the housing unit, demonstrating the value available in the FAR plus the requested supplement.
