Reception tents for dengue patients provide more than 22,100 services in the Federal District

dengue patients have already treated more than 22,100 people. There are 11 spaces opened in the last month by the Government of the Federal District (GDF) to facilitate the population’s access to exams and consultations. They operate every day of the week and are similar to field hospitals. In three tents, service is provided 24 hours a day and the others from 7am to 7pm. The first was inaugurated on April 11th.

This Saturday alone (4), 1,453 consultations were recorded. Furthermore, during the period, 434 people were tested and nine were transferred to other public health units due to the worsening of the clinical picture of the disease.

The tent with the highest number of assistances in the last 24 hours was Gama, with 168 assistances, followed by those in Planaltina (163), Paranoá (162), Guará (155), Taguatinga (155), Ceilândia (144), Samambaia (138), Plano Piloto (108), Vicente Pires (87), Areal (87) and Varjão (86).

In total, there are 11 spaces in operation, where the population has access to exams and consultations, three of which are open 24 hours a day and the others are open from 7am to 7pm. In each of them, there are more than 60 health professionals to serve an average of 150 people per day. The units are spread across Guará, Gama, Paranoá, Planaltina, Plano Piloto, Ceilândia, Samambaia, Taguatinga, Vicente Pires, Varjão and Areal.

‌The tents operate daily, with a structure similar to field hospitals, and are strategically positioned close to regular hospitals, emergency care units (UPAs) and basic health units (UBSs) in order to guarantee faster care for patients symptomatic of the disease and, consequently, reduce pressure on the Unified Health System (SUS).
