A motorcycle with more than R$18,000 in debt, mainly due to fines, was seized in the southern region of Palmas this Saturday (4). The incident happened after the motorcyclist caught the attention of the police because he was making a lot of noise from his exhaust and had no rear view mirrors.
The approach was during operation Sentinela, on Avenida Ipanema, in the Jardim Paulista sector, at around 3:20 pm. According to the Military Police, the motorcyclist was flushing freely – when the exhaust is modified and is left without any type of muffler or silencer, increasing the noise even further.
Lieutenant Colonel Dennys Dalla, commander of the 6th PM Battalion, stated that the operation aims to reduce noise pollution in the southern region of Palmas.
“The population has noticed a significant reduction of 80% to 90% in noise in the southern region of Palmas due to the removal of free flushing, which are noises that bother autistic people, the elderly, and also generate a feeling of chaos, of disorder”.
During the approach, it was found that the vehicle had R$18,312.94 in debt due to fines, in addition to R$571.88 due to delays in annual licensing. On the other hand, there were no IPVA debts.
“The good population demands the Military Police because of the noise caused by free unloading. At the same time, we have the opportunity to remove vehicles like this from circulation, which deliberately commit infractions in our capital and do not believe that they will be held responsible”, said the colonel .
The motorcycle from 2017 and valued at approximately R$12,000 was seized and taken to the Palmas vehicle yard.
