Security Forces begin operation to combat sexual exploitation of children and adolescents

The Amazonas Security Forces began Operation Safe Paths. The action will take place throughout the state of Amazonas during the month of May, strengthening actions aimed at combating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. The operation will have the support of several bodies at the state, federal and municipal levels in an integrated manner.

During the operation, intelligence, preventive, educational, overt and repressive activities will be carried out. In the latter case, the actions will be coordinated by the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-AM), through the Civil Police (PC-AM), with support from the Military Police (PMAM), Federal Police (PF) and Federal Highway Police (FEDERAL POLICE).

The delegate for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (DEPCA), Joyce Coelho, who is in charge of the operation, informed that the actions, which are already carried out daily, will be strengthened during the operational period. “What we are going to do is increase our efforts so that we can reach more and more children, parents and as many people as we can about these crimes and, of course, also act in a repressive manner”, she stated.

In Amazonas, crimes of sexual exploitation are high and to act in combat, in addition to the Security Forces, other bodies of the State Government participate in the operation in educational activities, such as the State Secretariat of Justice, Human Rights and Citizenship (Sejusc) , Health (SES), Education, in addition to municipal departments and partner institutions such as the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), Court of Justice (TJAM), Public Defender’s Office (DPE), among others.

Safe Paths

The operation is coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), through the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp) in partnership with the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC), and carried out in the 26 states and the Federal District , by public security bodies across the country.

In Amazonas, Cominhos Seguros is coordinated by SSP-AM, through the Deputy Executive Secretariat for Planning and Integrated Management (Saeagi), based on the integration of the bodies of the Integrated Command and Control System (SICC-4).
