The Bahian couple, Juliene Ferreiras Lopes, 19 years old, and Lucas Ferreira Borges, 22 years old, have been missing since the 30th, in the municipality of Estrela, Vale do Taquari, in Rio Grande do Sul. The region is one of those affected due to the storms that hit the state and have already left 39 dead, 68 missing and 74 injured.
Juliene and Lucas moved to Rio Grande do Sul, about six months ago, to work. The family had been keeping in touch with the two since the storms began.
On Tuesday (30), they lost contact with the couple. The last information they had was that Juliene and Lucas were in a shelter due to the rain.
Juliene’s sister, Carol Lopes, said she was talking to her on the phone when Juliene informed her that she would need to disconnect the call because the shelter was being flooded. Since then, the family has not heard from the couple again.
The family also said that they have already tried to contact the Rio Grande do Sul Fire Department, but have not received any response.
g1 Bahia contacted the Porto Alegre Civil Police, who said they did not yet have the names of the missing people due to the difficulty of access and contact with areas isolated by the rain.
