A recent report released by ClearSale, specialized in anti-fraud solutions, revealed that Acre stood out in the Northern Region of Brazil in relation to fraud attempts in online purchases. According to the data presented, the state recorded 6,500 fraud attempts over the past year, representing 1.8% of the total in the region.

The report, entitled “Fraud Map”, covered the period from January 1st to December 31st, 2023 and analyzed more than 369 thousand online requests made in Acre. Furthermore, credit cards were also responsible for the highest absolute number of fraud attempts, totaling 95.4 thousand cases, and had the highest average ticket for fraud attempts, reaching R$1,185.56.

The report’s analysis also identified the main methods used by scammers in the North region, such as New Registrations + False Wrong Delivery and Account Takeover. The most targeted categories were Mobile, Sports and Beauty.

It is important to highlight that the survey only considered payments via credit card in the e-commerce sector, classifying all suspicious or confirmed transactions as fraud attempts.
