Rio Implements Advanced Technology for Madonna Show

The Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro mobilized cutting-edge technology for security at Madonna’s show in Copacabana, using an Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center (CICM).

The CICM, an investment of R$8.6 million, was implemented in Praça do Lido and equipped with advanced technology from several countries, including China, the United States and Sweden. This mobile operational center will be used to monitor and coordinate security during the megashow which is expected to attract more than 1.5 million people.

José Francisco Silva, a local resident, commented: “Receiving this equipment gives a very good feeling of security. It commands respect and I really liked it. It is vital for an event of this scale.”

Technological Advances in Policing

The CICM is equipped with tools such as drones, high-capacity zoom and thermal cameras, and facial recognition and license plate reading software, which allows for a quick and effective response to potential security threats. “The embedded system tools… generate privileged information and images, which help Public Security, Health and Civil Defense agents to be able to make decisions for immediate intervention”, explained Major PM Agdan Miranda Fernandes.

In addition to its cutting-edge technology, CICM has a crisis room, operating positions with high-definition monitors, and a robust power system that ensures uninterrupted operation. This advanced infrastructure is crucial to successful operations during large-scale events.
