According to delegate Anselmo Cruz, responsible for the operation in Santa Catarina, the homicides originated in a dispute between factions in the municipality of Gravataí, in Rio Grande do Sul.

The investigation, which lasted eight months, began with the suspect’s involvement in drug trafficking in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. The man was on the run from the Rio Grande do Sul prison system, with preventive and temporary arrest warrants against him.

Among the crimes in which the man is being investigated, the theft of cell phones from the Multisom company’s warehouse stands out, with a charge estimated at R$3 million.

Furthermore, he is being investigated for his connection with 25 homicides that occurred in the municipality of Alvorada/RS, with sixteen fatal victims and nine survivors of attempted murders.

One of the cases that draws attention is considered the cruelest ever recorded in Rio Grande do Sul, which occurred in 2016, when four young people were found decapitated and showing signs of torture inside a vehicle in the city of Alvorada.

The victims’ bodies were tied up and showed no marks from gunshots, but rather signs of torture, having been killed by decapitation.

The criminal was captured in a residence in Bairro Bom Viver, where he had been hiding for four months, and a 9mm caliber pistol was seized from him, as well as documents with his photo, but with a false name.
