The Civil Police, through the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), arrested, in the act, this Wednesday, 1st, a suspect of attempted feminicide, in Aracaju. The man is the victim’s current partner.
The arrest occurred when the DHPP team on duty was returning from an incident in Nossa Senhora do Socorro. The agents found the victim with knife wounds on his back and abdomen, in a location close to Rodoviária Nova.
The woman was rescued at the Sergipe Emergency Hospital (Huse) and, during medical care, the agents managed to gather information about the case from witnesses, identifying the suspect’s physical characteristics and that he had fled to the América neighborhood.
With the information, the DHPP went to the neighborhood to look for the fleeing suspect. The man was found on the corner of São Salvador and Canada Streets. The murder weapon was recovered from him.
In the midst of the action, it was discovered that the suspect had changed his clothes, in an attempt to lose the police. The case was taken to the DHPP and the man is at the disposal of Justice.
The victim is hospitalized in serious condition at the Sergipe Emergency Hospital (Huse). In the case of crimes against women, the Civil Police reminds us of the importance of reporting through the Hotline (181). The secrecy of the whistleblower is guaranteed.
