On the Labor Day holiday, the two urgency and emergency units managed by the State Department of Health (Sesau) of Alagoas treated a total of 315 patients. According to a balance released this Thursday (2), the Agreste Emergency Hospital (HEA) in Arapiraca received 169 patients, while the State General Hospital (HGE) in Maceió treated 146 people.

At HEA, most assistance was related to traffic accidents, with 35 victims, of which 23 involved motorcycles. The hospital also welcomed victims of aggression, scorpion stings and dog bites. In addition, 21 people with a foreign body in their eyes, ears, throat or nose were treated, as well as 31 victims of falls.

The HGE in Maceió recorded a day with normal patient flow, with more than 76% of consultations related to clinical cases, such as Diabetes and Hypertension. The hospital also treated 28 accident victims and seven injured by assaults, in addition to carrying out eight surgeries and issuing 26 hospitalized patient discharges.

HGE’s medical coordinator, Ricardo Calado, emphasized the importance of teams on duty during the holiday. “Everyone was welcomed by our teams, who fulfilled our mission of assisting all those who need our services,” he said.

Sesau warns about the need to carry out preventive check-ups and adopt healthy habits to avoid worsening of chronic diseases and hospitalization scares.
