The Articulation Office for the Effectiveness of Public Education Policy in Mato Grosso (Gaepe-MT) and the Ministry of Education (MEC) discussed, this Wednesday (24), the implementation of an unprecedented course for the training of municipal employees in the development of service plans and expansion of places in daycare centers in Mato Grosso.
In an extraordinary face-to-face meeting, members of Gaepe-MT received the general coordinator of Early Childhood Education (SEB/MEC), Rita Coelho, who made herself available to assist Mato Grosso in the training of municipal employees.
The meeting also featured online participation by the director of Teacher Training and Valorization of Education Professionals at MEC, Lourival José Martins Filho.
“We are doing well in relation to the training project. I made myself available to Gaepe-MT to contribute to the preparation of the scope of the document addressed to the office of the Minister of Education/MEC to carry out the training”, said Rita Coelho.
The president of the Permanent Commission on Education and Culture of the Court of Auditors of Mato Grosso (Copec/TCE-MT), advisor Antonio Joaquim, considered the training of municipal managers to be essential so that they are prepared for the expansion of early childhood education in the municipalities.
“I consider training to expand early childhood education places to be very important and strategic. It is an action that will motivate the municipal manager about the importance of planning. The participation of MEC in leading the project is extremely important and essential to consolidate the content of the training, which will be the first in Brazil, with Mato Grosso as a pilot project”.
The training guarantees municipal secretaries the expertise to prepare plans focused on expansion, encompassing infrastructure, personnel, resources, in addition to quality care for children.
According to the executive president of Instituto Articule, Alessandra Gotti, having the presence of the MEC’s general coordinator of Early Childhood Education is a privilege to discuss federative cooperation and work on training managers.
“Gaepe-MT is a management support governance, created just over a year ago in MT, with the aim of bringing together efforts between all segments that work in education, from the Secretary of Education, Legislative, Judiciary, to together we think about the challenges of education. The training of managers allows them to make service plans and expand daycare spaces is one of these challenges that needs to be faced. We have worked very hard on the early childhood agenda, in daycare, pre-school and literacy and many results have already been achieved”, he celebrated.
State Program
During the meeting, councilor Antonio Joaquim commented on the Daycare Construction Program announced by the State Government last week.
“To give more consequence and objectivity to the State Program for the Construction and Expansion of Day Care Centers and meet an estimated demand of 15 thousand places. The meeting with professor Rita Coelho allowed us to discuss strategies to be taken in order to contribute to the execution of this project”, he stated.
Gaepe members also asked for support from the MEC Works Center for developing projects and calculating the cost of daycare centers.
The meeting was attended by the prosecutor of the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso (MPE/MT), Miguel Slhessarenko, the prosecutor of Accounts, Gustavo Deschamps (MPC/MT), and the President of the National Union of Municipal Education Councils of State of Mato Grosso (UNCME-MT), Eva de Paulo.
Gaepe-MT holds monthly meetings, coordinated in partnership with Instituto Articule.
