A video surveillance camera captured the exact moment a cyclist was run over by a bus in the Shell neighborhood, in Linhares, in the north of the state, last Thursday afternoon (25). In the images, it is possible to see that the vehicle, which was on Avenida Rufino de Carvalho, turns onto Avenida Guaçuí. At this moment, the young man who was on the bicycle collides with the side of the bus and falls under the vehicle, which continues to move.
Despite the strong scenes, the recording shows when the young man gets up, walks away and sits down on a sidewalk. The report was unable to locate the cyclist for more information about his health status, but, according to the Military Police, the young man was rescued by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). In records received by the production team of TV Gazetait is possible to notice that the bicycle was completely destroyed.
Searched for The Gazette, Viação Joana D’Arc, the company responsible for the bus, reported that the bus driver provided assistance and called Samu, monitoring the service. He also said that he is in permanent contact with the family to offer solidarity and monitor the patient’s health status.
