A 32-year-old woman and her 7-year-old son were found dead inside their home in São Francisco, in the North of Minas Gerais, on Monday night (6). The suspicion is that the woman killed the child and committed suicide, according to the Military Police.
A PM team went to the residence after receiving information from a family member that the woman had depression and had not been seen by neighbors for four days. Witnesses also noticed a bad smell coming from the house, with the presence of vultures flying over the place.
The soldiers forced the garage door open and managed to unlock the back doors of the house using glass. They then found the two victims hanging from ropes on the roof rafters. The bodies were already in a state of decomposition.
According to the PM, a Civil Police expert was at the scene and preliminarily found that there were signs that the woman had administered intravenous medication to the child to sedate him, and then hung him on the rope. Then she committed suicide. Tubes, syringes and packaging with medicines were found near the bodies.
At the scene, experts also collected a notebook with notes, a flash drive, medical prescriptions and papers with traces of blood. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
