According to an expert, financial planning is essential to guarantee a peaceful and safe vacation

With the July school holidays approaching, many Brazilians are already starting to think about the main destinations to enjoy their rest. According to the Tourism Trends survey, released by the Ministry of Tourism, 43% of Brazilians should take a leisure trip this year.

According to the Brazilian Association of the Hotel Industry in Sergipe (ABIH/SE), 85% occupancy was recorded, on average, this year – an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. The numbers point to the best tourist season ever in the state.

In order to ensure that the vacation goes as smoothly as possible and does not turn into a headache, it is essential to carry out detailed planning of all expenses involved with the trip, which are not few – transportation, tours, food and accommodation, are some of the expenses that should be considered when planning your trip.

“Through financial planning, it is possible to define a budget for the holidays, establishing spending goals and priorities. This makes it possible to reserve money in advance, avoiding debt during or after the holidays”, explains Erli Bandeira, Business Consultant at Central Sicredi Nordeste. “Planning also helps identify savings opportunities – such as searching for promotions, booking accommodation and tickets in advance,” he adds.

Sicredi offers a series of services and benefits for those who want to plan their vacation with peace of mind, such as a specific line of credit for travel, whether national or international; the services consortium, which works like a programmed savings account; reloadable prepaid card and exchange services.

Planning is essential to ensure a safe vacation

According to Erli Bandeira, the first step for anyone who wants to plan a vacation safely is to establish a goal – an achievable amount that is enough to cover the entire rest period. “List all expected expenses, such as tickets, accommodation, food, transportation, tours and shopping. Research the prices and estimate the total”, he says.

Next, you need to establish a compatible budget and create a reserve. “Check your current financial situation and set a realistic budget for your vacation. Start setting aside money in advance; This can be done through specific savings or by allocating a part of your monthly income for this purpose”, advises the expert.

According to Erli Bandeira, a credit card can be a viable option to finance part of your vacation, although it is preferable to reserve most of the money needed in advance.

“Before opting for credit, it is important to analyze the conditions offered, such as interest rates, payment terms and possible additional costs. Make sure you can afford future payments without compromising your financial health”, he explains. “If you choose to use a credit card, it is essential to include this expense in your financial planning and consider how it will impact your monthly budget”, concludes Bandeira.
