Suspect of threatening to expose intimate video of ex on social network is arrested in DF

A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Police (PCDF) on suspicion of blackmailing his ex-girlfriend and sharing intimate videos of her on social media. The author also allegedly failed to comply with the protective measure and even threatened the victim with death.

The arrest was made this Friday (26/4) by police officers from the 26th Police Station (Samambaia Norte). According to investigations, the author did not accept the end of the relationship and began to insult her and threaten to kill her. The woman requested protective measures, which determined that the man did not maintain contact or approach the victim.

However, the author began to coerce her and even said that he would publish a sex scene of hers on social media. The footage would have been recorded during the period in which the couple were together. Not satisfied, the author even posted a photo of the victim completely naked on his Whatsapp profile.

This Friday, the police carried out two search and seizure warrants and one for preventive arrest against the author. Electronic devices were seized during the searches. On the devices, the man stored photos and videos of the victim. He will answer for the crimes of persecution, coercion during the process, failure to comply with protective measures and disclosure of sex scenes, without the victim’s consent. Sentences range from 6 to 16 years.
