The affected divisions would be Arkane Austin (Redfall), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Witihin, Ghostwire Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush), Alpha Dog Studios and Roundhouse Studios. The reason for this decision would have been a new reallocation of resources and new priorities. Check out an excerpt of the email, verified by the portal, below:

Here are the changes taking effect:

Arkane Austin: This studio will be closed, with some team members joining other studios to work on Bethesda projects. Arkane Austin has a history of creating innovative and impactful games, and it’s a lineage everyone should be proud of. The previous Redfall update will be the last, as we will end all development on the game. The game and its servers will remain online for players to enjoy, and we will provide good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC.

Alpha Dog Studios: This studio will also be closed. We appreciate the team’s creativity in bringing Doom to new players. Mighty Doom will be retired on August 7th and we will disable players’ ability to make in-game purchases.

Tango Gameworks: Tango Gameworks will also be closed. We are grateful for your contributions to Bethesda and to players around the world. Hi-Fi Rush will continue to be available to players on the platforms it is on today.

Roundhouse Games: The Roundhouse Games team will join ZeniMax Online Studios (ZOS). Roundhouse has played a key role in many of our recent game launches and bringing them to ZOS to work on The Elder Scrolls Online will mean we can do even more to expand the world that millions of players call home.

Matt Booty warns that Bethesda devs will be notified soon

The privacy of this email was apparently high. In one of the excerpts, Booty mentions that developers from the aforementioned studios would be alerted on the day the document was sent, that is, this news may be appearing before they were actually notified about the changes.

What a moment the games industry has been experiencing in 2024, right?
