1. Rua General Glicério (Laranjeiras)

Known for its picturesque architecture and lively Saturday market, Rua General Glicério is an icon of the Laranjeiras neighborhood. Its historic buildings from the 1940s and well-kept gardens make it a true jewel of the city. The apartments on the street are valued at more than R$2 million


2. Rua Pires de Almeida (Laranjeiras)

A true hidden gem, Rua Pires de Almeida is a testament to Rio’s architectural beauty. With its preserved buildings and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a stroll through the city’s past. The 1927 project is one of the first large-scale real estate developments in the city. Along its 300 meters, it has 23 buildings and 158 apartments built by Companhia Sul América. All very well preserved, reminiscent of Italian cities.


3. Rua Grajaú (Grajaú)

With its tree-lined streets and peaceful atmosphere, Grajaú is one of the most charming neighborhoods in the north zone. Its urban planning from the 1920s with streets organized in a grid and a central square. Its preserved centuries-old houses make it a Rio treasure.


4. Rua Paissandu (Flamengo)

Opened in 1864 and full of history, Rua Paissandu is one of Flamengo’s treasures. With its boulevard of imperial palm trees and historic buildings, it is an invitation to take a stroll through ancient Rio. The street connected Palácio Isabel (currently Palácio Guanabara), in Laranjeiras, to Praia do Flamengo, in the South Zone. A resident of the palace, Princess Isabel liked to walk along the boulevard with her family. The large shadows of the palm trees, which live for at least 100 years, alleviated the heat. Along its route, Eclectic, Romantic and Art Deco style buildings. In the 1860s, the princess’s husband, Conde D’Eu, expanded the street, one of the most important at the time, a noble address for Rio’s elite. Most of the mansions were demolished, but some remained from the 19th century.


5. Rua Maria Angélica (Botanical Garden)
