Bahia has 1.6 million voters with canceled registrations (excluding deaths), according to information released by the Regional Electoral Court of Bahia (TRE-BA) this Thursday (25).

Given the situation, TRE-BA announced regularization shifts on Saturday (27), from 8am to 2pm, in the 19 electoral zones of savior and throughout the interior of the state. There will also be actions on the 1st, 4th and 5th of May.

The initiative will cover the Electoral Registries of Salvador and the interior of the state. TRE-BA units in SACs will not participate in the shift.

To be served at the Electoral Court service points, it is important to present an official document with photo and updated proof of residence, issued no more than three months ago.

In the electoral registration process (first voter registration), it is important to highlight that the National Driving License (CNH) and the passport cannot be used in isolation, and additional documentation must be presented. The military discharge certificate is also requested for men who turn 19 in the year they issue the document.

Before going to the registry office or an Electoral Court service point, the person must check their registration status on the following channels:

  • TRE-BA website;
  • Telephone Exchange (71) 3373-7000;
  • WhatsApp (71) 3373-7000

The voter registration card is canceled when the citizen for whom voting is mandatory, aged between 18 and 70, fails to vote for three consecutive elections and does not justify absences. Each voting round is considered an election. The title is also canceled when the voter does not attend the electorate review, promoted by the Electoral Court, in their municipality.

Public service actions and projects

The “TRE-BA em Todo Lugar” initiative through “SAC Itinerante nas Escolas” aims to provide guidance on the electoral process for students, in addition to offering services such as enlistment (1st copy of the title). In this cycle, six schools in Salvador were selected to receive the project.

In Salvador, six schools were included: Colégio Estadual São Daniel Comboni; Rotary State College; Full-Time State College Professor Pedro Paulo Marques e Marques; David Mendes Pereira State College; Barros Barreto State College and Luiz Viana State College.

The services began on March 25th and will end on Friday (26th). As of April 16, 1,085 students were served in these schools.

The action also included the cities: Feira de Santana, Itabuna, Ilhéus and Vitória da Conquista. Students from the interior of the state began to have access on Tuesday (23) and will be able to register their first voter registration card until May 3rd.

  • Colégio Modelo Luís Eduardo Magalhães (Feira de Santana);
  • Itabuna Integrated Basic, Professional and Technological Education Complex (Itabuna);
  • Integrated Complex of Basic Professional and Technological Education (Vitória da Conquista);
  • Nelson Schaum State Center for Professional Chocolate Education (Ilhéus).

Regardless of their area of origin, since January 2024, voters can request electoral registration (1st copy), review of registration data or transfer of title, including the collection of biometric data, at the Public Service Center (CAP), in Salvador .

The request can only be made at the Public Service Center, at the TRE-BA headquarters, at CAB. The request is only valid for municipalities in Bahia.

Previously, voters had to travel to the desired electoral zone in the interior of the state to request registration, review or transfer. The new regionalized service seeks to reduce bureaucracy in procedures and speed up access to electoral services offered by the Electoral Court of Bahia.
