Utinga State Park ends celebrations for 31 years with record attendance

The celebrations for the 31st anniversary of the Utinga “Camillo Vianna” State Park, in Belém, came to an end and saw a record number of visitors. Around 8 thousand people passed through the Conservation Unit (UC), just this Sunday, the 5th, which demonstrated the interest and appreciation of the space throughout society.

For three days, the site, which is managed by the Institute for Forestry Development and Biodiversity of the State of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) and the Social Organization (OS) Pará 2000, hosted a series of activities that combined science, citizenship and fun for everyone. the family.

Among the main actions carried out at the site, the presentation of scientific research on the Park, an exhibition on native Brazilian bees, visits by public school students, an exhibition of taxidermied fauna from the Environmental Policing Battalion (BPA) and a table- round to discuss tourism and the UC’s water sources, were highlights of the program.

The program also included a bird watching course along the trails, a photography workshop for young people, the provision of health services, from nursing screening to vaccinations and rapid tests, and a fair selling products from Amazonian socio-biodiversity, also attracted public attention. But the highlight was the commemorative walk for 31 years, which emphasized nature and inclusion.

I congratulate the program that was organized to celebrate the Park’s 31st anniversary and many people, like me, also came to honor this milestone”.

He reveals that he often comes to the place to go hiking, running and cycling.

“Today I’m cycling with the children, but we also like running, always being here, enjoying this wonderful environment. I believe that from an early age we have to pass on the importance of conserving our green areas to our children, especially us, who are privileged to have a space like this and to have been born in the Amazon”, he highlighted.

Some of them are the return of nautical activities on the Bologna and Água Preta lakes, the construction of a new visitor support center along the main trail, among others”, he detailed.

The manager of the Belém Administrative Region, Júlio Meyer, said that it is always a joy to see the Utinga State Park full of visitors. He points out that there are still many people who do not know the space and that several actions have been taken to ensure attracting new audiences, but also so that everyone has the best possible experience during the tour.
