O Geological Museum of Bahiaa body administered by the Secretariat of Economic Development of Bahia, prepared a special program for the 22nd National Museum Weekpromoted by Brazilian Institute of Museums. The event, created in celebration of International Museum Day, will be held between the 14th and 19th of May, with free entry. The theme of this edition is ‘Museums, Education and Research‘ and aims to promote, publicize and value Brazilian museums, in addition to increasing the visiting public and intensifying the relationship between museums and themes to be addressed with society.

In addition to being a research center aimed at developing projects in the scientific and educational areas, the museum is an entertainment space. National Museum Week is a significant and extremely relevant event for Brazilian culture and we wouldn’t do it any other way. We have prepared a special program for the topic that discusses the preservation of heritage sites that value the potential of our state”, highlighted the secretary of the department, Angelo Almeida.

SDE’s Mining, Oil and Gas Promotion Coordinator and responsible for the MGB, Amanda Silva, highlighted the importance of the equipment’s presence in the event’s program. “Museum Week has been among the most important events in the Brazilian museum field since 2003, as it mobilizes several institutions in the country and highlights the fundamental role of museums as spaces that promote research, education and culture, thus strengthening museums as spaces for construction and knowledge rebuilders“, he pointed out.
