Ashley Graham’s corset dress took 500 hours to create and plus-size model ‘barely could breathe’ at the 2024 Met Gala.

Ashley Graham she looked stunning at the Met Gala 2024 and joined a powerful team of celebrities, such as J-Lo, Ariana Grande, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian and Bruna Marquezine – who looked like a true princess. For the special event, the plus-size model arrived in a black dress with a tight corset and crystal floral embellishments created by Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
“It took over 500 hours,” Ashley told Live From E!’s Ross Mathews. “Handmade—all these little crystals. It’s all mesh. It’s crazy what he and his team did,” she said. Ashley also wore an updo, tasteful silver jewelry, and a matching black shawl, but the dress itself was enough to take everyone’s breath away — including her own. “I can barely breathe, the organs have been moved together, as you can see this is not my normal waist,” she snapped.

On social media, she even gave more details about her look. “What a charming Met!” she wrote in a May 6 post. “HUGE thank you to @ludovicdesaintsernin and his team for their extraordinary dedication and craftsmanship. This dress is a true work of art, each piece of metal and Swarovski crystal was meticulously placed by hand; 500 hours of handwork went into this extraordinary dress,” he said.
And although she’s already walked the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the night for the model is just beginning — as she shared, she’ll be interviewing other red carpet arrivals…
