Event that celebrates Roraima’s achievement as an area free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination takes place on Sunday, 28

The event to celebrate the end of the vaccination campaigns against foot-and-mouth disease and the achievement of the free area without vaccination in Roraima will be held next Sunday, 28th, from 10 am, at Fazenda Cristalina, located after Vicinal 16/17, on the road do Apiaú, in Mucajaí.

The State Government invites rural producers to attend the event in order to celebrate the end of vaccinations against the disease and the beginning of a new health status achieved for livestock in Roraima with extensive action by the Executive, mainly through the work of Aderr ( Agricultural Defense Agency of Roraima) and the engagement of the productive sector.

The end of the vaccination campaigns against foot-and-mouth disease and the beginning of a new phase without vaccination is considered by everyone as an important milestone for the development of livestock activity in the State, as it will bring many benefits to producers and boost the economy with generation of employment and income in the beef production chain, which involves livestock farmers, slaughterhouses, transporters, distributors and markets.

“We are looking forward to starting a new phase in livestock farming in Roraima, finally achieving foot-and-mouth disease-free status without a vaccine. We are certain that this change will bring benefits to everyone, who can count on the support of the Roraima government to boost the sector. We are partners and we will walk together to advance in this important achievement”, celebrated Governor Antonio Denarium.

At the closing event, a barbecue will be served to those present, who will be able to enjoy the moment and celebrate the achievement of a foot-and-mouth disease-free area and the end of the campaigns that began in the early 1980s, taking 44 years for the disease to be eradicated in Roraima.

“It is an important moment for everyone and we will celebrate this achievement with the participation of producers, authorities and collaborators who have helped with the campaigns over the years. It’s a celebration of our livestock. I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to the opening and eat the barbecue, which will be offered to those present”, highlighted the president of Aderr, Marcelo Parisi.
