After more than 10 days, police continue searches for Acreans suspected of invading the AM bank branch | Acre

A resident of Cruzeiro do Sul who collaborated with the criminal action had also already been arrested. In the crime, which occurred in the early hours of the 12th, more than half a million in cash was taken

Two others involved, also from Rio Branco, are being sought. One of them has been identified. he is referred to as Wendel Darley Fonseca. The third person, who also lives in Rio Branco, has not yet been identified by the police.

“More recently we also identified another person, Wendel Darley, resident of Rio Branco, member of this organization, and there is an arrest warrant against him and he is on the run. There is also another person, also a resident of Rio Branco and a member of this organization, but we have not yet identified, but we have a photograph”, explained the delegate from Guajará, Adenilson Carlos Aguiar.

According to Aguiar, the police are also looking for information to identify others involved in the action to try to locate the suspects, the police are asking for the community’s support.

The criminals used cutting tools to break into the bank and even obstructed the fiber optic cables that feed the city’s internet and cell phone system to hinder investigations.

Upon gaining access to the interior of the agency, they also turned off the monitoring system, but the images recorded before the circuit was deactivated show the moment in which the 3 men invaded the agency, which was essential for the police investigations.

“At first, the banking system’s own cameras contributed to the elucidation, but the elements were all hooded, and this makes the investigation difficult, but it does not prevent us from moving forward, and we located witnesses, people involved. From then on, the investigation advanced significantly, mainly due to this interstate cooperation”, concluded the delegate.

Searches for duo from Rio Branco who participated in the bank robbery in AM continue

According to the Amazonas Civil Police, the suspects broke into part of the institution in the parking lot and entered. The monitoring system was turned off and they used saws and pliers to break the safes and bank terminals.

“They also stole a 38 revolver, some ammunition, a ballistic vest belonging to the company that provides security”, confirmed the Guajará Civil Police delegate investigating the case, Carlos Aguiar.

In a statement, Sicredi confirmed the theft and regretted the situation. “We reaffirm our continuous investment in security with the aim of protecting people and property. Furthermore, we remain at the disposal of the competent entities in investigating the case”, he says. See full note below.

Communication blackout’

According to investigations, the criminals spent more than two hours inside the agency and, to prevent the circulation of information in the city at the time of the theft, they blocked the municipality’s telephone and internet system before breaking into the institution.

“Shortly before, they blocked the telephone signal, they even interrupted it by cutting the fiber optic cable that provides the signal to the city. The city was in a communications blackout and, during this period, they carried out the action”, he confirmed the delegate.

The delegate also highlighted that the group is from Rio Branco and went to Juruá with the sole objective of carrying out theft at the financial institution’s branch. They rented a house in the city of Cruzeiro do Sul and planned the action to gain access to the inside of the agency.

Carlos Aguiar also confirmed that the resident of the municipality of Amazonas was arrested on Saturday (13). “This gang came pre-determined to carry out this theft. This group has been formed for some time, we have information of other thefts of this magnitude carried out, including in the city of Guajará. They have always had support, since they arrived in the city of Cruzeiro do Sul to plan and execute the action”, he pointed out.

The tools and clothes that the criminals used during the robbery were seized. A cell phone was also seized and part of the money taken from the institution was recovered. The value was not revealed.

The delegate said that investigations continue to try to catch the others being investigated. “Right now we have two people arrested. I’m waiting for more precise information from the bank manager to know the exact amount taken,” he concluded.
