The ministers of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Paulo Pimenta, and of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, will go to the capital of Rio Grande do Sul this Saturday.

In an interview with TV Brasil, minister Paulo Pimenta said that the office will operate until all people are rescued. Hundreds of families are stranded in different areas of the state that are difficult to access due to the high volume of rivers and bad weather and 68 people are missing. More than 8 thousand people have already been rescued.

The federal government has already made rescue boats, trucks and backhoes available to clear roads. Antennas will be sent to restore communication and internet. The Ministry of Justice authorized the arrival of 100 agents from the National Force to support operations in the state.

“There will be no budget limit so that we can provide the necessary support to build every house, every road, every bridge, every school, every health unit, returning dignity and working and safety conditions to our people”, said the minister.
