Warrants in Mato Grosso do Sul are served in Campo Grande; there are 22 arrest orders against those being investigated
Military police officers were part of a gambling gang active in Ceará and which generated more than R$300 million. Today, those under investigation are in the sights of Ficco (Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime) of the Federal Police, which launched Operation Primma Migratio. 22 preventive arrest warrants and 36 search and seizure warrants were served in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, and three other Brazilian states.
It took two years of investigation, according to the Federal Police, making it possible to collect evidence that the gang migrated part of its management structure from the state of São Paulo “with the aim of implementing profitable clandestine activities in Ceará, such as drug and weapons trafficking, the exploitation of games of chance, including Jogo do Bicho, in addition to money laundering from these illegal activities in a sports lottery administered by the criminal organization”.
There is evidence to suggest that the criminal group moved more than R$300 million suspiciously in recent years. “(…) part of these resources would be used in the corruption of public servants”, says a note from the Federal Police, which also reported that the arrest of two military police officers belonging to the gang’s logistics nucleus had been ordered.
Warrants – 22 preventive arrest warrants, 36 search and seizure warrants are being served at addresses in the states of Ceará, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to the hijacking of 42 vehicles belonging to those being investigated. The warrants were issued by the Criminal Organization Offenses Court of Ceará and one of them was included in the Interpol red broadcast due to the fact that one of the investigated women had recently resided in Argentina.
The operation is led by Ficco do Ceará, with support from agencies in São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The Integrated Force is made up of the Federal Police, Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense, Military Police, Civil Police, Federal Highway Police, National Secretariat of Penal Policies, Forensic Expertise and Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and State Resocialization – all from the state of Ceará .
