Minas Gerais – An elderly man, aged 73, was arrested this Tuesday (23) suspected of raping three children aged between 4 and 12 years. The case took place in the city of Itacarambi, in the north of the state. In addition to the arrest, the police also carried out a search and seizure warrant at his residence and seized cell phones and electronic devices.
During the investigations, the police discovered that the person being investigated used a teenager to lure victims to his residence with promises of donating sweets, food, and also allowing them to use his Wi-Fi. With this, he convinced the victims to maintain relations with him.
According to information, this teenager benefited from the elderly man with gifts and cell phone recharges. In return, she invited the children to visit the elderly man’s home. In total, three victims were identified and confirmed the abuse. These are children who have financial needs and were attracted by what the investigator offered them.
According to delegate William Araújo, the specific investigation made it possible to gather subjective and objective elements of evidence that prove the authorship and the crime committed by the elderly man. “In addition to the testimonial evidence and technical elements collected, the PCMG also had access to audios where the suspect reports that he likes ‘young girls’ and that he would pay with money, food, as well as other objects to satisfy his lust and maintain relationships with them”, explained Willian, adding that in the procedure initiated, the teenager’s conduct is also investigated for an infraction.
The elderly man was arrested at his home and, after judicial police work, was sent to the prison system, where he remains at the disposal of the courts.
