Today (6/5), from 10 am, at the Hospital Federal dos Servidores (HFSE), the general assembly of the federal network will take place, which will decide on the indication of a possible strike for an indefinite period. Tomorrow, starting at 11 am, a unified act of the federal network will take place, in front of the Department of Hospital Management (DGH) – Rua México, 128 – Centro.
The two activities are part of the 48-hour strike that Rio’s federal health network is carrying out today (6/5) and tomorrow (7/5), in protest against the Lula (PT) government’s intention to slice up and privatize federal hospitals. .
This mobilization calendar was approved by an assembly of federal network employees held on 4/29, in front of the Federal Public Defender’s Office (DPU) building, on Rua Uruguaiana 174, shortly after a committee of Sindsprev/RJ directors and workers of federal hospitals met with the regional human rights defender from Rio de Janeiro, Shelley Duarte Maia. On that occasion, Sindsprev/RJ handed the DPU a dossier with updated data on the crisis in the federal network. The union also asked the DPU to file two public civil actions requesting an injunction: one to preserve the principle of social control, obliging the federal government to consult SUS employees, users and councils on the management of the network; and another to ensure the continuity of Covid’s 1,786 Temporary Union Contracts (CTUs) until a public tender is held.
Last Friday (3/5), employees of the federal network in Rio promoted a symbolic hug to the Hospital Federal de Bonsucesso (HFB), to signal the workers’ dissatisfaction with the proposed slicing of the network.
