Mother and daughter died after being run over by a truck on BR-030, at the junction that gives access to the District of Morrinhos, in the city of Guanambi, in the center-south of Bahia. The accident happened on Monday night (22), around 7 pm. Senhorinha da Silva, aged 71, and her daughter, Marli Senhorinha da Silva, aged 41, were returning from Vitória da Conquista in a city hall bus used to transport patients. They were run over while crossing the road.
Marli Senhorinha da Silva accompanied her mother, who was undergoing medical care in Vitória da Conquista. They were transported by an out-of-home treatment (TFD) bus. The women lived in the rural area of Morrinhos, a district with around 3,400 inhabitants.
According to Guanambi City Hall, the bus stopped in the correct place and activated the alert. As they crossed the road, the women were run over by a VW 24-250 truck, licensed in Brasília.
The driver was destined for the city of Caetité, located 30 kilometers from the place of the accident. The driver, who was not identified, called the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) and was taken to the local police station.
