A 50-year-old woman was arrested after writing several letters to her 22-year-old daughter in Itabira, in the Central region of Minas Gerais. She would also have insisted on going to the young woman’s house, even with a protective measure against her. The case was disclosed this Tuesday (April 23) by the Civil Police.

According to the institution, the victim was subjected to constant psychological violence, which led to the request for a protective measure. The court then ordered the mother to have no contact with her daughter.

However, even after the court decision, the woman insisted on trying to contact her daughter, violating the prohibition. To protect the victim’s rights, the Civil Police represented the woman’s preventive arrest. The warrant was granted, and the suspect was sent to the prison system.

The Civil Police advised that all cases of domestic and family violence against women be reported.

“Registration can be done directly at a police unit, via hotlines 180 or 181 and also via the virtual police station in cases of threat, actual/bodily injury and non-compliance with protective measures”, highlighted the institution.
