An important arm in the international drug trafficking scheme dismantled by the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) this Wednesday (24/4), the three digital influencers from Brasilia arrested preventively used social networks to advertise marijuana refills.

The column identified the “bagulho influencers” arrested as part of Operation Refil Verde.

With more than 38 thousand followers on Instagram, Rhaynara Didoff presents herself on her profile as an actress, singer and comedian. During the investigation, investigators from the Drug Enforcement Coordination (Cord) identified and collected material evidence that the influencer was hired by the trafficking network to advertise “pens” and refills with marijuana oil trafficked by the criminal network across the country.

In the images published in her Stories, the influencer uses pens and recommends the consumption of the drug, in addition to publishing links to websites that traffic marijuana in its liquid form.

In a humorous tone, the blogger publishes her life routine in parallel with the consumption of “magic pens”.

Bagulho influencers

The second DF influencer arrested this Wednesday for involvement in drug trafficking is Elisa de Araújo Marden. On her Instagram profile, she presents herself as a businesswoman and shares photos and videos of trips and parties, always advocating the use of marijuana.

In videos produced after commissioning by the group responsible for trafficking marijuana refills, the influencer usually recommends the purchase of products by disclosing the drug dealers’ website addresses.

The third influencer arrested is Letícia Susane Correia Castro. Like the other two, the young woman uses her social networks to promote high-THC marijuana refills in Stories, making “merchant” for the criminal group. Susane alternates between photos and videos on paradisiacal beaches and the use of “pens” boosted with marijuana oil.

The three influencers arrested by Cord will be charged with the crime of drug trafficking and association for drug trafficking. The trio was subject to a preventive arrest warrant and should be sent to the Women’s Prison, Colmeia, in Gama.

The investigation

The Operation Refil Verde investigations dismantled a scheme that operated money laundering, international drug trafficking and crimes against public health.

The criminal organization, led by a couple of businessmen from São Paulo, acquired bank accounts in the name of third parties and used shell companies to launder drug money. The operation carries out nine arrest warrants and 12 search and seizure warrants in the Federal District, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

The criminal group maintained websites and social media accounts for the electronic commerce of products, stating that they were selling medicines for different types of diseases. Traffickers used international numbers to contact customers through WhatsApp.

At that moment, the work of digital influencers came into action. Some of them were hired across the country to promote the sale of the drug on their Instagram profiles.

“Wax route”

Sophisticated, the international logistics scheme, organized to bring refills with marijuana oil from California (USA), caught the attention of investigators.

The drug trafficking couple purchased the herb oil from American suppliers. Then, the drug was carefully hidden inside pots of wax for hair removal. Then, the thousands of containers left the North American country on commercial planes.

The drug used to land on Paraguayan soil and cross the border with Brazil through Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná. At its last stop, marijuana in its liquid form arrived in São Paulo. Inside warehouses owned by criminals, the drug oil was extracted with the help of syringes and placed inside refills.

The drug dealers’ big move came soon after. The drug, already properly packaged, was camouflaged inside glue sticks and then sent via post across the country.

The volume of drugs sent, according to investigators, was immense, with users spread across the country.

In São Paulo, part of the gang manipulated drugs and placed them in electronic cigarette refills. The criminals mixed solvents and flavorings into the oil, and deceived customers, through the group’s websites and social networks, claiming that they were selling different genetic alterations of marijuana.

According to investigations, IT professionals from Rio de Janeiro were responsible for building the group’s e-commerce platforms, collaborating with money laundering through the automation of payments and the use of false documents and data when contacting the banking network. .

Part of the inputs for the construction of electronic cigarettes came from China and were personalized, with the logo of the criminal organization, in Rio de Janeiro. The gang took advantage of the lack of supervision on social networks to obtain millionaire profits.

The scheme was expanding, creating a network of contacts in different countries and websites, as well as backup social networks, in case a profile was taken down.

Base of operation

The leaders of the group, also the target of the operation launched this Wednesday, were located in the interior of São Paulo and had no direct contact with the drugs, which were sent to traffickers and users through a contract with the private company and posted by the Post Office.

The bosses operated the illicit market remotely, using and abusing multiple layers of protection to prevent the police from getting to them.

Investigators also noted the active participation of women, even playing leadership roles in criminal actions. The group was trying to reach a larger audience, claiming therapeutic functions for the products.
