The state of Acre maintained the positive variation in February for the harvest of cereals, legumes and oilseeds. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in its Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (LSPA) this Tuesday (23), the expectation is 187,862 tons in the harvest.

According to the Acre News Agency, the president of the Companhia de Armazéns Gerais e Entrepostos do Acre (Cageacre), Pádua Bruzugu, highlighted recent progress:

““Since 2018, Cageacre has been experiencing a significant increase in operationalization in its storage units in cleaning, corn drying and rice processing, as a result of the reorganization of the units, with specific improvements, with few investments, and, mainly, with the team’s commitment to better serve our rural producers”, he commented.

Harvest data

According to the data, the harvest is led by cassava, with 469,755 tons; followed by corn, with 119,841 tons; and bananas, with 89,226 tons.

They also appear:

Soy – 60,585 tons;

Sugarcane – 11,306 tons;

Orange – 5,368 tons;

Rice (houses) – 4,447 tons;

Beans – 2,896 tons;

Coffee (canephora) – 2,771 tons;

Smoke (leaves) – 41 tons.

Another key strategy is to expand Cageacre’s services to include the processing and drying of coffee beans in Porto Acre, which allows it to absorb local coffee production.
