Approval comes after a consensus reached between federal deputies and the federal government.

In a press interview this Monday (22), the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, informed that there was agreement on the main points of the Perse bill: the limitation of tax waivers at R$ 15 billion until 2026 and a comb -fine in the qualification of companies to receive the benefit. Perse was created to help companies in the events sector affected by the covid-19 pandemic.

The original version of the project, authored by deputies José Guimarães (PT-CE) and Odair Cunha (PT-MG), provided for a reduction in tax benefits, ending in 2027.

Federal deputies approved the replacement of deputy Renata Abreu (Pode-SP), which establishes bimonthly monitoring by the Federal Revenue Service of the tax exemption of the five taxes listed in the program (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS and Cofins). The reports must present the amounts paid by the benefiting companies.

For the deputy, the agreement with the government was “necessary to avoid losses or legal uncertainty”.

The government leader, José Guimarães, assured that the government will maintain the R$15 billion and informed that the reduction in the number of activities benefited was requested by the Chamber leaders, and not by the government.
