Tocantins has more than 1,400 contracts renegotiated by Desenrola FIES

The state of Tocantins has already had 1,469 contracts renegotiated in Desenrola Fies, a Federal Government program aimed at people with debts related to the Student Financing Fund (FIES). The number is part of the most recent balance sheet from the National Education Development Fund (FNDE) and refers to the first week of April.

The balance of the debt renegotiated in the state exceeded R$71.9 million and, with just the down payment acquired in the renegotiations, the return to the public coffers exceeds R$3.1 million.

NATIONAL – Across the country, Desenrola Fies has already benefited more than 253 thousand people. The renegotiations refer to contracts signed until 2017 and with debts on June 30, 2023. To date, R$11.51 billion in debts have been renegotiated, resulting in a subsequent debt balance of around R$2.18 billion. With the down payment alone, the Federal Government raised R$475.6 million. Discounts on many renegotiations reach 99%.

REGIONS – The Southeast was the region with the most contracts closed at Desenrola Fies. In addition to the negotiations in São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, 99,561 contracts were closed, which had a debt balance of R$ 4.36 billion and which resulted in R$ 204.72 million collected with the amounts of Prohibited.

The Northeast appears next, with 72,040 contracts signed, a balance of R$3.34 billion and entry values ​​of R$112.86 million. Next come the Central-West (30,703 contracts, R$ 1.61 billion in balance and R$ 58.1 million collected), the South (23,038/ R$ 1.14 billion/ R$ 59.68 million) and the North (18,272/ R$ 857.17 million/ R$ 25.97 million).

STATES – São Paulo is the Federation Unit with the most renegotiated contracts in Desenrola FIES so far. The state registered 48,287 contracts. The balance of the renegotiated debt exceeded R$1.84 billion and, with just the down payment value of the renegotiation, the return to the public coffers was R$91.26 million.

Minas Gerais comes next, with 31,242 contracts, a renegotiated debt balance of R$1.57 billion and an entry value of R$68.24 million. Bahia (20,565), Rio de Janeiro (15,325), Ceará (15,041) and Mato Grosso (10,213) complete the list of states that registered more than ten thousand renegotiated contracts.

TERM – Desenrola Fies guarantees special discounts that can reach 99%. The deadline to renegotiate debts under the program ends on May 30th. Students with Fies debts who have not yet joined must request renegotiation from the financial agent with which they have a contract.
