A 20-year-old man was shot dead after an argument over loud music during his mother’s birthday party in Montanha, in the north of Espírito Santo, on Tuesday night (2). Flávio Haime Souza ended up getting involved in a mess with neighbors who went to complain about the noise.
According to information from the Military Police Incident Report, a party was taking place in the city center. Some neighbors went to the police to complain that the party was causing a disturbance and that people at the party were setting off bombs in the area.
When the police arrived on the street, a woman approached the police and said that men had killed her son during the party.
The mother reported that they were celebrating her birthday with the sound at ambient volume and that during the party they dropped a bomb. After that, neighbors went to the house to complain and a fight reportedly broke out.
According to the mother, her son tried to calm the situation, but started arguing with a man. A third person who was following the discussion pulled out a gun and shot Flávio twice.
After being shot, the young man ran into the house and was followed by the man who was fighting with him. The suspect also stabbed Flávio.
Argument over loud music ends in death in Montanha
According to the police, the men involved in the confusion fled and until the last update of this report, no one had been arrested. Flávio was rescued and taken to a hospital in the city, but the young man did not resist and died after being admitted to the unit.
The Civil Police reported that the case remains under investigation by the Mountain Police Station and, to date, no suspects have been detained.
The victim’s body was sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Linhares, where it will undergo an autopsy process. It will later be released to family members.
