State signs more than R$700,000 in Empreender PB contracts

The State Government, through the Empreender Paraíba program, signed, this Tuesday (2), more than R$ 700 thousand in contracts with entrepreneurs from the municipalities of Baraúna, Barra de Santa Rosa, Cuité, Damião, Nova Floresta, Pedra Lavrada and Picuí. The ceremony took place at the Child and Adolescent Community Center, in Cuité. 81 contracts were signed, under the Empreender Individual, Empreender Youth, Empreender Liberal Professional, and Empreender Liberal Professional Youth credit lines.

A program developed by the State Government, Empreender PB supports entrepreneurs in Paraíba, providing financing with reduced interest rates for individuals and legal entities. The objective is to encourage entrepreneurship, generate jobs and income for the people of Paraíba, in addition to developing the economic potential of each region.

Ronaldo Fernandes da Silva joined the Empreender Individual Credit Line to expand his variety store in the municipality of Cuité. For the small business owner, the objective is to move towards face-to-face sales, with a physical store. “I want to go from online to physical, have more space and more varieties of products to keep my customers satisfied. This credit from Empreender will help me with this”, said Ronaldo, who has been selling bags, shoes and accessories in his online store since March last year.

Architect Fagner Santos, from the city of Barra de Santa Rosa, will renovate the office and open up opportunities for new markets. “We who are from the interior have difficulty setting up these work points. Empreender is an alternative so that we can, through it, get started, and see the possibility of growth in our area”, says Fagner, who joined the Empreender Professional Liberal Credit Line.

From the municipality of Damião, Physical Education professional Janielson da Silva Pontes joined the Empreender Profissional Liberal Juventudes Credit Line to purchase machinery and equipment with the aim of expanding the space of his gym, the first in the municipality. “I started with a few students, but the number of enrollments increased and I needed to expand. This is my opportunity to grow, together with my city.”

For the executive secretary of Empreender, Fabrício Feitosa, the objective of the program is to reach more and more people. “This resource will enable small businesses to advance and make the local economy spin, with more businesses and job creation. From 2019 to 2024, across the 4th Region, 799 contracts were signed, totaling more than R$5 million in investments, which demonstrates the care and attention that the State Government has for the region”.

Present at the ceremony, the president of Cuité City Council, Dagmando Lopes, emphasized the importance of Empreender’s action in the municipality. “It is important especially for a small municipality, and it is gratifying to know that our city will receive this investment. When traders and small business owners grow, the municipality grows together”, stated the councilor.

The mayor of the municipality of Damião, Simone Azevedo, celebrated the signing of the Empreender contracts from the perspective of generating employment and income. “We need to make the best of this moment. This will generate wealth, income, and employment. This is the translation of citizenship.”
