Firefighters are called to capture alligator replica… ABC do ABC

The Minas Gerais Fire Department was called in the early hours of Monday (1st) to rescue an alligator that scared the security guard of a condominium in Vespasiano, in Greater Belo Horizonte.

The animal was motionless under a jabuticaba tree, on the lawn of a house. When using a capture tool, lassoing the animal’s mouth, the firefighters realized that it was an alligator-shaped garden ornament.

“It’s plastic,” one firefighter said to another. “Are you kidding”replied the companion.

The corporation itself released a video about the “fake” alligator and stated that it looked extremely realistic. Firefighters advised the population to always ask for help in cases of doubt.

The animal was created by biologist and sculptor Adriano Marques de Souza, who owns a company specializing in making animal replicas. They are used in universities, museums and schools. The pieces are hand painted and are rich in details.

The garden alligator was made with polyurethane foam, polyester, modeling clay and epoxy.

The security guard who called the firefighters did not know that the replica had been created for decoration and, according to the Fire Department, he acted correctly.

After the hoopla and fame, the fake alligator will remain in the garden.
